Have you ever heard of cyanotype?
It's one of the oldest photographic printing processes in the world — and once you try it, it's impossible not to fall in love with it. You coat paper with a light-sensitive mix, place flowers, leaves or a printed acetate on top, take it outside, and let the sun do the work. What you get is unlike anything else: deep inky blues, delicate botanical silhouettes, and results that feel almost magical every single time.
I've been experimenting with cyanotype in my studio for a while now, and I'm so excited to finally share everything I've learned.
I'm happy to introduce my brand new class:
"Cyanotype & Mixed Media Explorations (CreativeIngrid Style)" — now available online!
This class is very close to my heart. It's the most experimental, most layered thing I've ever taught — and some of the results genuinely surprised me. We don't just make cyanotypes. We combine them with watercolor washes, acrylic inks, gold paint, powder pigments and dried botanicals to create something completely your own.

| We start from the very beginning — mixing and applying cyanotype, choosing the right paper, and understanding how UV light works in your space. | No darkroom needed. No special equipment. Just paper, paint, flowers, and sunshine. |
Whether you've never tried cyanotype before or you're an experienced mixed media artist looking for something new, this class is for you. All levels are welcome — you don't need any prior experience with cyanotype, watercolor or acrylic.
What's inside the class:
- How to mix and apply cyanotype — step by step
- 10 tips for success (everything I wish I knew when I started)
- 6 projects, from your first simple print to a complex layered piece
- How to combine cyanotype with watercolor, acrylic inks, gold paint and botanicals
- No-waste experiments: how to use leftover mix and old watercolor paintings
- Acetate printing — a creative way to add personal text or designs
- Full supply list with recommendations for USA, UK and Europe

| The Signature Piece: layers of cyanotype, masking fluid, watercolor, gold paint and powder pigments — all in one piece. | Nothing Goes to Waste: one of my favourite lessons, using leftover mix and old paintings as a base for new experiments. |
One of the things I love most about this process is how it changes the way you look at your studio. Leftover cyanotype mix? Use it on an old watercolor that's been sitting in a drawer. Dried flowers from last summer? Perfect for printing. Nothing goes to waste — and the most surprising results often come from the things you least expect.
This class is perfect for you if:
- You've been curious about cyanotype but didn't know where to start
- You love mixed media and want to explore new techniques
- You want to bring something completely different into your studio practice
- You're looking for a class that goes beyond a single project and builds a real skill
