10 Years of CreativeIngrid: A Little Thing That Grew
I have a confession to make: CreativeIngrid turned 10 years old, and I completely forgot about it!
Recently, while checking the status of my domain, I realised that I changed my name from Petitacosa to CreativeIngrid back in March 2015. It stopped me in my tracks for a moment, ten years! How did that happen so fast?
The beginnings: Petitacosa: “Small Thing”
Petitacosa was the very first name I gave to my Etsy shop in 2010, when I was living in Barcelona. The name literally meant “small thing,” and that’s exactly what it was: a space to make little things with my hands after long days working full-time in the publishing industry.

When I later moved to London, I started selling my creations at a small stall in Portobello Market. Spoiler alert: it didn’t go very well as a business (my little handmade pieces were not exactly what tourists were looking for). But it was still a beautiful experience, and I did become an expert in the Notting Hill movie, because everyone kept asking me where the famous blue door was!
The rebirth: becoming CreativeIngrid
Some years later, while living in New York City and starting to fall in love with watercolours, I felt a deep urge for change. The name Petitacosa didn’t fit anymore. I was ready to grow, to take up more space, creatively and personally.

So, with a lot of nerves and excitement, I renamed everything to CreativeIngrid. The new name was a promise to myself: to trust my artistic voice and step confidently into who I was becoming. And that’s where my watercolour journey truly began.
Looking back
I always imagined I’d make a big celebration for this anniversary. Maybe a party, a giveaway, something loud and colourful. Instead, I completely forgot 😅.
But maybe that’s okay. Because sometimes, the best way to celebrate is to pause, look back, and simply feel grateful for how far we’ve come.
Thank you for being part of this creative journey with me, whether you’ve been here since Petitacosa or you’ve just discovered my art.
With love,
Ingrid.
