This summer, I’ve been experimenting with different techniques that allow me to play with water in new ways, using a variety of surfaces like silk and wood.

Every year, during the month of August, I like to celebrate my birth flower, the sunflower. This year, I decided to bring together my love for the moon with the radiant power of the sun. I worked with paper, real sunflowers, and painted with sunlight using cyanotype techniques, while mixing watercolors and acrylics.

The result is a mini collection of four large mixed-media paintings exploring the phases of the moon: Sunflower Moons.
